Immediate Implant placement is not a new concept in any way in the Implant world yet our understanding on how it affects the outcome has grew and priorities of the procedure and implant design choice have matured to a better understanding. By looking back throughout the Implant history and the literature we have a better understanding and the future of the criteria in Immediate Implant placement techniques is more visible.
A lot has changed since 1965 when the first dental Implants were placed in a patient’s mouth, what was an absolute no is now an absolute yes and the results and new literature is enlightening. Dr. Joseph Mina Atalla’s Bio
Dr. Joseph Mina Atalla became a dentist at the age of 22, then completed his dental education three times in three different countries by age 30. Dr. Atalla received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, from Misr University for Science and Technology and completed his residency at Cairo University, Ein Shams University and Alexandria Research Center.
He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Universidad De La Salle. Dr. Atalla is currently involved in research at Goethe Frankfurt University, Germany. He is both a Fellow and Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and was the first member of the German Society of Oral Implantologists (DGOI) in the United States.
