Pinkening Periimplant Profile
Pinkening of Peri-implant Profile
Implant dentistry has already been established as a predictable treatment modality for replacing missing or nonrestorable teeth with excellent clinical success rates. During the last decade, the focus of implant research has shifted from the osseointegration of the implant to its esthetic integration in the smile. However, the esthetic rehabilitation by dental implants constitutes a major challenge for dentists. The final esthetics of an implant restoration in the esthetic zone is dependent not only upon the appearance of the crown, but also equally on the position and appearance of the surrounding gingival tissues. The optimal management of the interplay between bone, soft tissues and prosthetics determines the esthetic outcome and the long-term stability of soft tissue esthetics. Achieving an ideal esthetic result in the compromised site is often elusive and, in many cases, impossible.
In the presentation, the presenter will highlight the key factors to optimize pink esthetics around dental implants, which plays a crucial role in the success of implant therapy.
Learning objectives for this lecture:
- The importance of beginning the treatment with esthetics in mind
- Identify the Key Esthetic Risk factors
- Understand the synergy between bone, soft tissue and prosthetics
